Marilyn A. Edwards

Mrs. Marilyn A. Edwards, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 30, 1937, to the late Raymond Howie and Eva (Goudie) Howie. Mrs. Edwards graduated from Murray State University with a BSN and retired from Cheyenne Regional Hospital. She was an avid fan of UK Basketball and the Chicago Cubs.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Penney and her second husband, Jerry Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Thorne of Dexter, Kentucky, Donna Vanover and husband Todd of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Beverly Penney of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Danny Penney and wife Inger of Wingo, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Paul Camfield (Vicky) of Murray Kentucky, Ian Penney Hughes of Murray, Kentucky, Amy Elliot and husband Clint of Nashville, Tennessee, Chris Thorne of Dexter, Kentucky, Jon Gordon of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Paul Penney (Diana) of Mayfield, Kentucky, Kristen Gordon of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jacob Penney of Murray, Kentucky, Emily Cordevant (Nathan) of Murray, Kentucky, Sarah Anderson (Nick) of Murray, Kentucky; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ian Camfield, Sebastian Camfield, Olivia Camfield, Lola Thorne, Skyler Rutland, Easton Cordevant, Paisley Cordevant, Josslin Penney, Ethan Penney, Vivan Penney, Jillian Penney, Grant Elliott, Evan Elliott, Avery Elliott, and Ellanor Anderson.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Murray Memorial Gardens. Father Brandon Williams will officiate, and burial will follow. There will be no public visitation.
