Mrs. Marion Frances Hargis Elkins, age 82, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Monday, May 24, 2021, at her home.
Mrs. Elkins was born in Murray, Kentucky, on April 29, 1939, to the late Frank Hargis and Ruby Starks Hargis. Mrs. Elkins retired from Murray State University after 30 years with the Economics and Finance Department. She was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elkins was preceded in death by her husband, A. Edwin Elkins; two daughters, Georgia Turner and Kristy Elkins; and by one granddaughter, Keri Turner.
Mrs. Elkins is survived by two daughters, Edwina Rogers of Murray; and Francie Stubblefield of Murray; eight grandchildren, Jesse Turner (Alisha) of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Sydni Stubblefield (Ben Thompson) of Indiana; Kaci Stubblefield (Brad Dixon) of Murray, Elizabeth Maness of Murray, Jake Maness (Ashley Brandon) of Paducah, Kentucky, Jessica Knott (Kalan) of Almo, Kentucky, Kathryn Rogers (Zach Groves) Louisville, Kentucky, and Charlie Rogers (Natalie McCarthy) Virginia Beach, Virginia; as well six great-grandchildren, Jayda Turner, Braydon Turner, Riley Brashears, Bryson Dixon, Kayden Rogers, and Kensley Knott.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at the Murray City Cemetery with John Dale officiating.
