Mrs. Marion Sue Kemp, age 85, of Hazel, Kentucky died on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Towne Square Care of Puryear in Puryear, Tennessee.
Mrs. Kemp was born on September 29, 1931 to the late Nolon Adams and Vera Wicker Adams. She worked in sales at the Singer Sewing Center, as well as working at Fisher-Price. She served as a Scout leader for the Boys and Girls Scouts and was a member of the Martins Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kemp; and two brothers, William Adams and Grundy Adams.
Survivors include two daughters, Clara Jane Elkins and husband Larry of Murray, Kentucky and Gail Scarbrough and husband Steve of Buchanan, Tennessee; two sons, Stephen Kemp of Hazel, Kentucky and Charles "Chuck" Kemp and wife Michele of Longwood, Florida; two half-sisters, Suzanne Adams of Hermitage, Tennessee and Teresa Adams of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one half-brother, Timothy D. Adams of Alexandria, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Michelle Corum and husband Dan, Cortnee Cope and husband Brad, Lauren Rivera and husband Alex, Jerimy Kemp, Amelia Elswick and husband Mike, Charlotte Lackey and husband Richard, Jimi Wells, Julie Bolen and husband Adam; as well as 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Martins Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Escue officiating. Burial will follow in the Martins Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be held at the Martins Chapel United Methodist Church from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 prior to the funeral service.
