Mrs. Marjorie Grady, 82, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Born on January 26, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Warren Jackson and Louise Boner Jackson.
A lifelong educator, she dedicated her career to nurturing young minds as a kindergarten teacher and gifted & talented education instructor at East Elementary School. Marjorie was a devoted and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a faithful member of the Green Plain Church of Christ.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Warren & Louise (Boner)Jackson; her stepmother, Ann Gray Jackson; her sister, Nancy Jane Jackson Hoback; her brother, William (Bill) Warren Jackson; and her granddaughter, Anne Marie Jones.
She is survived by her wonderful, loving husband of nearly 61 years, Raymond Hayes Grady, whom she married on a snowy day, December 22, 1963, in Union City, Tennessee.
Her legacy is carried on by her children & family; daughter, Vicki Grady Sudzum (Nick) of Sharon, Tennessee; her two sons, Raymond Warren Grady (Leigh Ann) of Murray, Kentucky, and David Wade Grady of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Wanda Jackson of New Concord, Kentucky, and Mary Ann (Kent)Gearin of Martin, Tennessee; her brother, Charlie Jackson (Donna) of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Erin Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, Taylor Grady (Lauren) of Belleville, Illinois, Kayla Marble (Patrick) of Murray, Kentucky, Alicia Harrison (Kyle) of McKinney, Texas, and Suzanna Pigg (Lofton) of Murray, Kentucky; and four great-grandchildren, Warren Jay Marble, Annie Jane Marble, Caleb Logan Grady, and Lucas James Harrison.
Marjorie will be remembered for being unapologetically herself. She had a kind heart, generous nature, was devoted to her family, and unwavering in her faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A funeral service to honor Marjorie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, officiated by Johnnie Hutchison and Charlie Jackson. Burial will follow at Green Plain Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the funeral home.
