Martha Alice Kendall Dowdy

Mrs. Martha Alice Kendall Dowdy, age 85, of New Concord, Kentucky, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Dowdy was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on December 3, 1932 to the late Hester Thomas Kendall and Ola Miller Kendall. She worked for 35 plus years for the Murray-Calloway County Hospital and nursing home facilities as a CNA and later as an LPN. Mrs. Dowdy attended the Cherry Corner Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Dowdy; two sons, Ronnie Dowdy and Keith Dowdy, four brothers, R.C. Kendall, Carl Kendall, David Kendall, and Fred Kendall, two sisters, Treva Kendall and Margarite Sills; granddaughter, Taylor Jordan Dowdy; and son-in-law, Lloyd Lee Green.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Dowdy Green of Dexter, Kentucky and Debbie Lynn Dowdy Lewis and husband Don of Fulton, Kentucky; two sons, John Dowdy and wife Vickie of Murray, Kentucky and Richard Dowdy and wife Lori of Dexter, Kentucky; sister, Katherine Anderson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; as well as, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with burial following in the Hicks Cemetery. Rev. Kendrick Lewis will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
