Martha Ann (Maupin) Jackson, age 77, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home in Murray, Kentucky.
Martha was born May 15, 1939, in Murray, Kentucky, to Franklin and Luvean (Rowland) Maupin. She was reared and educated in Murray, graduating from Murray High School in 1957. Upon graduating, she married the love of her life, Willie Franklin Jackson on August 3, 1957.
Martha and Willie lived the majority of her life in Murray, Kentucky with brief stints in Montverde, Florida, Williamsburg, Virginia and Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. She was a stay at home mom while her children were young, then worked 16 years performing various secretarial positions at the Murray First United Methodist Church.
Martha was a member of the Murray First United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife to her husband Willie, a loving mother to her two children, 4 grandchildren and one great grandson. She loved her family and enjoyed everything to do with animals, rocks, movies and books. Martha and Willie loved working together on home projects and fishing. She enjoyed traveling and spending special times with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Jackson; daughter, Karen Clendenning and husband Gary, grandson Ryan, granddaughter Emily Frey and husband Tim, and great grandson Colton Frey; son, Wayne Jackson and wife Kelly, grandsons Ben and Dan Jackson; sister Letitia Johnson; brother Jerry Maupin and wife Jeanne; and brother Dale Maupin and wife Jackie.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Luvean Maupin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Dye and Rev. Jim Stahler officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
