Martha Nelle Scruggs

Mrs. Martha Nelle Scruggs, age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Kentucky.

She was a member of the Hazel United Methodist Church; she was retired for West Kentucky Rural Electric

She was born in Hazel, Kentucky on August 17, 1924 to the late Charlie and Bessie Charlton Myers; in addition to her parents she also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Chesley Scruggs and daughter-in-law Judy Scruggs; four sisters, Marelle Treas, Ruth Hill, Robbie St John, and Alice Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Toni Jones and husband J.W. of Hazel, Kentucky; one son, Tim Scruggs of Hazel, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Johnna Nance and husband Bo of Hazel, Kentucky, Valerie Clark and husband Darren of Hazel, Kentucky, Jeanne' Hilbrecht and husband Tim of Murray, Kentucky, Julie Philippi and husband Jimmy of Nashville, Tennessee.

Funeral services will 11:00 am Saturday, November 10, 2012 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Leslie and Rev. Jim Stahler will officiate with burial to follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2012 at the funeral home.
