Mary Franklin Erwin Paschall, 96, peacefully reached her final destination of the "Promised Land" on Thursday August 3rd. She was born May 10, 1921 to Herbert Franklin and Eva Bazzell Erwin.
She was an active member of Glendale Road Church of Christ and became a Christian in 1946 at Water Street Church of Christ.
She was a past member of the Murray Woman's Club Garden Department and the last surviving member of the Birthday Club and leaves Lorraine Adams as the only remaining member of the Breakfast Club.
Mary Frank was a well-loved and well- rounded Lady. She was the Matriarch of the Erwin family and planned and hosted all holidays. She was an avid fisherman, world traveler and nature lover. Active well into her nineties she continued to garden, harvest flowers and read hundreds of books and study the Bible. She was an accomplished seamstress and was well known for her carrot cake, delicious meals and fine fashion sense.
Mary Frank and her husband L. W. started Paschall Truck Lines in 1937, with one truck hauling milk and sawdust for local farmers. No longer in the trucking business she still enjoyed being included in activities such as PTL Drivers Appreciation Day. She was thrilled by the expansion of PTL, and E.S.O.P.
She was lovingly cared for by her daughter Janice and son-in-law Billy Rue Nix until a few weeks before her death when the kind and gracious caregivers of Hospice made her last days comfortable.
Mrs. Paschall was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, L.W., a grandson, Tripp Nix, brothers, Joe Tom, Rob and Billy Erwin and sisters, Diane Erwin and Judy Parker.
She is survived by daughter Janice Nix, son-in-law Billy Rue Nix of Murray and grandson, John Paul Nix of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She was also second mother to Rick Paschall and Debra Paschall Galloway, who spent teenage years in her home. She is also survived by nieces Ethel Rose Paschall, Evie Erwin Paschall and Tracy Gallimore, Teresa Erwin Lilly, Dr. Terri Erwin and nephews Tim Erwin, Bucky Erwin, Chuck Parker and Ben Parker.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the funeral to follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 6, 2017. Speakers will be John Dale, Garry Evans and Bill Looney. Burial will be at South Pleasant Grove Cemetery with benediction by Steven Hunter.
Pallbearers will be Rick Paschall, Tim Erwin, John Paschall, Bucky Erwin, Ben Parker and Chuck Parker.
