Mary Sue Whisman

Mrs. Mary Sue Sherrard Whisman, 81, of Murray, Kentucky died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital.
Mrs. Whisman was born in Pryse, Kentucky on July 18, 1930 to the late William Marian Sherrard and Mamie Frances Smith Sherrard. Mrs. Whisman was a homemaker and worked as a legal secretary. Mrs. Whisman was a member of the First Baptist Church and there a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Whisman was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie "Thomas" Whisman, who died on October 1, 2011; sister, Geraldine Sherrard; and by one grandchild, Leslie Aaron Whisman.
Mrs. Whisman is survived by two daughters, Vicki Williams and husband Keith of Murray; and Lynn Whisman Bush and husband Stuart of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one son, Wayne Whisman and wife Janet of Franklin, Tennessee; one sister, Betty Lane Riley and husband Melvin; one brother, William "Bill" Bryant Sherrard and wife Jo; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Brother Boyd Smith officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. eastern at the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, Kentucky. Burial will follow.
