Matilde Canady

Mrs. Matilde Hansen Canady, age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Gwinnett Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mrs. Canady was born in Bicol, Philippines on September 18, 1926 to the late Hans Christian Hansen and Margarita (Guevarra) Hansen. Mrs. Canady was a homemaker and was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Canady was preceded in death by her husband Max Canady, who died on June 11, 2013; as well as three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Canady is survived by three daughters, Helen Panis and husband Emil of Las Vegas, Nevada, Belinda Woods and husband Carl of Murray, Kentucky and Anne Hafner and husband Harlan of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sons, Edgardo Sarile of the Philippines, Roger Sarile of the Philippines, Fred Sarile and wife Brenda Domingue of Murray, Kentucky and Les Sarile and wife Maria of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Leonara Torres of California; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Leo Catholic Church in Murray. Burial will follow in the St. Henry Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2014 from 5:00 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
