Mrs. Maudie Lee Hopkins, 100, of Murray, KY., died September 8, 2010 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Mrs. Hopkins was born in Calloway Co., KY on May 9, 1910 to the late James W. Lovett and Henrietta Walker Lovett. Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker and a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband, Fuqua Hopkins, one sister, Annie Lovett Burkeen, and two brothers, Pearson Lovett and Ivison B. Lovett.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by one son, Jerry Hopkins and wife Jenny of Murray, KY, three grandchildren, Lisa Betts and husband Chuck of Murray, KY, Lynette Kingins of Murray, KY, and Leslie Denham and husband Mark of Franklin, TN, six great grandchildren, Matthew Morris, Chris Denham, Jared Denham, Daniel Denham, Trice Kingins, and Chole Betts, also five great great grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., at The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McKinney officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 -8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010 also at the funeral home.
