Mrs. Mavis Dean Murdock, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky died, Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Murdock was born January 2, 1935 in Weakley County, Tennessee to the late Johnie Webb and Sophine Wilson Webb. She retired after 30 plus years as a bus driver for the Calloway County School System and was a member of the Williams Chapel Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Gerlene Newsome and Janette Murdock; and one Daughter-in-law, Christine McCuiston Murdock.
Survivors include her husband Alfred Murdock of Murray, Kentucky, they were married on May 25, 1954 in Corinth, Mississippi; three daughters, June Welter and husband Steve, Janet Futrell and husband Barry, and Lori Falwell and husband Tim; two sons, Thomas Murdock and Bill Ed Murdock; two sisters, Laretta Stidham of Lexington, Kentucky, and Martha Milam and husband Jerry of Bowling Green, Kentucky; one step-sister, Ruthie Wilfred of Farmington, Kentucky; one step-brother, Bryant Kerns of Mayfield, Kentucky; as well as nine grandchildren, Tyler Murdock and wife Ashleigh, Abby Murdock, Brett Welter, Meaghan Lawrence and husband Gary, Bryan Murdock, Courtney Rudd and husband Luke, Whitney Futrell, Hugh Falwell and wife Melissa, and Brandon Falwell; also surviving are three great grandchildren, Downs Murdock, Bae Lawrence, and Maelee Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
