Mr. Max Canady, 78, of Murray, Kentucky died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Canady was born October 17, 1934 in Calloway Co. Kentucky to the late Jesse and Gaynell Bray Canady. He retired from the United States Armed Services, having served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Mr. Canady had served with the Air Force and Marines. He was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church in Aurora and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Matilda Hansen Canady of Murray; two daughters, Belinda Woods of Murray and Anne Hafner of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sons, Edgar Sarlie and Roger Sarlie both of the Philippines, Fred Sarlie of Murray and Les Sarlie of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Gayla Sullivan of Camden, Tennessee; as well as 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by one brother, Joe Pat Canady.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Babu Kulathumkal officiating and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
