Mr. Michael Cad Hopkins, age 54, of New Concord, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Hopkins was born in Murray, Kentucky on February 5, 1971. Mr. Hopkins worked at the Fire Department in Virginia Beach, Virginia, before moving to Murray. After moving to Murray, Michael volunteered for the Calloway County Rescue Squad and served as a deputy jailer for the Calloway County Jail for many years and recently received the honor of being named Captain.
Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Hopkins; stepfather, Roger Lee Ingrum; and one brother, Robert H. Hopkins.
Michael is survived by his mother, Patricia Ingrum of New Concord, Kentucky; stepsister, Michelle Lynn McAdams and husband David of Rockingham, Virginia; stepbrother, Scott Ingrum and wife Stephanie of Richmond, Virginia; three step grandchildren, Austin and Dillon McAdams both of Rockingham, Virginia and Todd Moore of Richmond, Virginia; as well as his nephew, Justice Manley of Syracuse, New York.
A memorial service honoring Michael’s life will be held on September 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with Bro. Ben Childs officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
