Mr. Michael D. McCoy, age 66, of Murray, Kentucky died at his home on Saturday, October 18, 2014.
Mr. McCoy was born April 19, 1948 in McCracken County, Kentucky, to the late Marvin and Lonnie Clay McCoy. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jeanie McCoy, a sister, Edith Thorp.
He was a retired custodian with Murray State University, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and member of the Jenny Ridge Pentecostal Church. He was a mason with the Aurora Alford Lodge, and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. McCoy is survived by two sons, Michael Wayne McCoy of Murray, Kentucky, and David A. McCoy and wife Michelle of Murray, Kentucky, two brothers, Dennis McCoy and wife Christie of Ballard County, Kentucky, and Mark McCoy of Marion, Illinois, also eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, burial will follow in the Wallace Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
