Mrs. Mildred K. Canady 84, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
She was a retired Beautician having Owned and operated the Cut & Curl beauty shop. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
She was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on July 21, 1926 to the late Mark Hays and Eulala Burton Elkins; In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Mason Canady, one sister, Virginia Pannell, two brothers, Gaylon Elkins and Joe Elkins, one grand-daughter, Michelle Darnell Roach, one great-grandson, Taylor Ray Roach.
Mrs. Canady is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Darnell and husband Brooks of Murray Kentucky and Theresa Knight and husband Jimmy of Murray, Kentucky; son Jackie Mason Canady and wife Darlene of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Nancy Conner of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers Larry David Elkins and wife Anita of Memphis, Tennesse, and Jimmy Elkins of Memphis, Tennessee; as well as six grandchildren, Craig Darnell, Lori Duff, Jay Knight, Mitchell Knight, Amy Robinson all of Murray, Ky., and Jodi Weiberg of Nashville, Tn., and fifteen great-grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hicks cemetery, Dan Webb and John Dale will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
