Minnie Craig

Mrs. Minnie Alice Bowen Craig, age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on August 5, 2011, at West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, Georgia. She was born on January 4, 1923, in Whitlock, Tennessee, to Roy and Verna Walker Bowen.
Mrs. Craig was the widow of Robert Ross Craig and is survived by her three daughters: Carolyn (Jim) Collier of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Jill (Dan) Guy of LaGrange, Georgia, and Patricia Miller of Santa Rosa, California. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Craig Collier of San Diego, California, Chris Collier of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Erin Guy (Aaron) Berutti of Collierville, Tennessee, Paige Guy and (fiancé David Todd) of Atlanta, Georgia, Kevin, Kathy, Jenny, and Ryan Miller of Santa Rosa, California.
Two sisters, Roy Nell Bowen and Virginia Solomon, preceded her in death, and one sister, Peggy Scott, of Paris, Tennessee, survives. She is also survived by four nieces.
Mrs. Craig attended First Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky, having first joined Birds’ Creek Baptist Church in Whitlock.
She retired from the Western Dark Fired Tobacco Growers Associates and was a graduate of Puryear High School and Draughns’ Business College.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at South Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery, Rev. Boyd Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home on Monday, August 8, 2011, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may go to West Georgia Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, Georgia 30240.
