Mr. Eldridge “Harold” Swift, age 85, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Friday, July 17, 2026, at his daughter’s home in Magnolia, Texas.

Mr. Swift was born on January 12, 1941, in Almo, Kentucky to the late Eldridge Hampton Swift and Melva Oleta (Burton) Swift. He was the owner and operator of Harold Swift Construction. He was also a member of the North Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna (Swift) Ashworth; his son, Michael Wayne Swift; his sister, Glynda Sue (Swift) Black; and his brothers, Gerald Swift and Henry Swift.

Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Marylin Sue (Robinson) Swift of Murray, Kentucky; his daughter, Trina (Swift) Lasater and her husband, Dayton, of Magnolia, Texas; and two nephews, Christopher Carney and Justin Carney, whom he and Marylin lovingly raised from an early age. His grandchildren, Amy (Ross) Pervine and her husband, Trevor, of Murray, Kentucky; Joshua Lasater and his wife, Mandi, of Magnolia, Texas; (Lasater) Emily Ashton and her husband, Michael, of Magnolia, Texas; Austin Ashworth and his wife, Kristin, of Charleston, South Carolina; and Brandon Ashworth of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Addison and Ethan Pervine of Murray, Kentucky; Cole and Kendall Stone of Magnolia, Texas; Catherine and Jaxson Ashton of Magnolia, Texas; and Shepard and Wells Ashworth of Charleston, South Carolina. He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Steve Ashworth of Goodlettsville, Tennessee,

He also leaves behind, his sisters, Leta Taylor of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Freda Spann and her husband, Buddy, of Cadiz, Kentucky; his brothers, Robert Swift and his wife, Gay, of Murray, Kentucky, and Dale Swift and his wife, Amy, of Almo, Kentucky; Along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who will cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with William Fred Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in the North Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
