Mr. James “Jimmy” Ray Haley, son of the late Gus and Ruby Haley, age 89, of Almo, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Haley was born in Calloway County, Kentucky, on April 20, 1935. Mr. Haley was a Korean War Veteran. He worked at Tappan Stove Company and was a tobacco farmer before retiring. He was a member of the Dexter – Hardin Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Haley was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Nell Haley; as well as a grandson, Kori Mohler.
Mr. Haley is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty Wicker Haley of Almo, Kentucky, to whom he married on March 27, 1991, in Murray, Kentucky. Jimmy and Betty enjoyed camping, horseback riding, and several years of traveling to flea markets and antique stores, collecting a variety of antiques; one daughter, Sheri Riddle and husband Kem of Hardin, Kentucky; two sons, Mike Haley and wife Shelia of Murray, Kentucky and Brad Haley and Tammy of Murray, Kentucky; two step sons, Keith Wicker and wife Teresa of Almo, Kentucky and Michael Wicker and wife Rhonda of Almo, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren, Adam Haley, Jason Haley, Karson Haley, Austin Haley and wife Essie, Jaime Lax, Jessica Riddle, Kellie Key, Whitney Prescott and husband Adam, Shauna Traylor and husband Zach, Alyssa Wicker, Jessica Wicker, Tyler Schanbacher and wife Tosha, and Blake Schanbacher; one granddaughter-in-law, Kenzie Mohler of Murray, Kentucky; as well as 14 great-grandchildren, Audrey Haley, Weston Haley, Haylee Moultrie, Hunter Lax, Lillie Key, Cash Mohler, Hadley Mohler, Kaden Mohler, Ellie True Prescott, Andie Kay Prescott, Tripp Traylor, Owen Traylor, Gibbs Traylor, and Bryer Schanbacher.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Richard Burkeen officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
