Mr. Richard Crawshay Hall, Sr.

July 6, 1959 — June 18, 2024

Hazel

Richard Crawshay Hall Sr., 64, of Hazel, KY died peacefully at his home on June 18, 2024.

Richard was born on July 6, 1959, in Wisbech, England to Janet and Harry Hall. His journey in life took him to England, Japan, New Mexico, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana before finally settling in Kentucky to raise his three children with ex-wife, Gail.

He had an adventurous spirit, which led to racing cars, flying planes, scuba diving, water skiing, music, and likely other activities his children, who are writing this, should never hear about. His quick humor will be dearly missed, but his practical jokes not so much.

Richard retired from Hannigan Motorsports. While not one to boast or brag about himself, he had a brilliant mind that never stopped learning and creating both practical applications and the arts. He knew something about everything and could design, build, fix or do anything when he set his mind to it. He was a mentor and friend to many who crossed his path at work and at play.

Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Hall; stepfather, Gary Nichols; father, Harry Hall; grandchild, Colby Stevens; and most precious of all, Korkie the Yorkie.

Those left to remember him include his wife and partner in crime, Lesa; mother, Janet Nichols of Murray, KY; sister, Sally (JB) Sparks of Panama City, FL; sons, Richard (Sandi) Hall Jr. of Benton, KY and Joel Hall of Dallas, TX; daughter, Meagan (Alex) Griendling of Bellevue, WA; and stepson Aaron (Tabitha) Stevens of Murray, KY. He was driven mad by his grandchildren Josh, Christian, Braylyn, Freya, Khloe, Cameron, Dawson, and Will.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Cherokee Park in Aurora, Kentucky. Food and beverages will be provided. Everyone is encouraged to bring their fishing pole.
