Mr. Richard Euing Towery

Mr. Richard Euing Towery, age 90, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.

Mr. Towery was born on July 25, 1936, in Kirksey, Kentucky, to the late Robert Towery and Myra (Hanley) Towery. He retired from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture as a Livestock Inspector. Mr. Towery was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and was a 1954 graduate of Kirksey High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garlene (Woods) Towery; one sister, Carolyn Morris; as well as one brother, James Towery.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Rogers and husband Ralph of Murray, Kentucky and Richela Carson of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Austin Rogers and wife Brittani, Dustin Rogers, Chanda Meeks and husband Lee, and Chrystie Chapman and husband Ed all of Murray, Kentucky; eight great-grandchildren, Peyton Rogers, Maycie Rogers, Ezra Bradley, Adyson Phillips and husband Jared, Garrett Scott and wife Morgan, Briley Scott and wife Zoe, Carson Chapman, and Jackson Chapman and wife Melanie; as well as four great-great grandchildren, Jace Phillips, Layna Phillips, Rhett Scott, and Charlie Scott.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Bro. Ed Chapman will officiate, and burial will follow in the Kirksey Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
