Mr. Stephen David Garner, age 75, of Kirksey, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Garner was born in Murray, Kentucky, on February 13, 1948, to the late Henry Vernon Garner and Lena Elaine (Hodge) Garner. Mr. Garner was a self-employed auto mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his wife, Teressa (Vance) Garner, who passed away on August 19, 1991; one daughter, Angela Dawn Garner, who passed away in 2021; one brother, Gerald Garner; one great grandchild, Kaiden Matthew Houston; one sister-in-law, Jewell Garner; and by his father-in-law, Jerry Vance.

Mr. Garner is survived by two daughters, Alicia Garner Wilkerson and husband Derrick of Kirksey, Kentucky and Amber Elaine Garner of Paris, Tennessee; two sons, Chad David Garner and wife Malissa and Stacy Garner and wife Julia all of Paris, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, Aaron Houston, Rachel Jackson, Joshua Garner, Heather Simpson, Cheyenne O’Daniel, Diego Garner, Lillian Garner, Kyra Ray, Kaleb Ray, Kayne Ray, and Layton Elkins; eight great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Sue Vance; one brother-in-law, Mike Vance and wife Jean; two sisters-in-law, Mary Dick and husband Todd and Anita Crass and husband Mark all of Murray, Kentucky; four nieces, Laken Vance, Courtney Beane and husband Aaron, Kenzie Dick, and Chelsea Humphreys and husband Josh; seven nephews, Kevin Garner, Roger Garner, Dustin Vance and wife Sydney, Brandon Vance and wife Haley, Cameron Dick, Robert Crass and wife Dana, and Reese Milam and wife Emily; as well as six great nieces and seven great nephews.

A public graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Phillip Bazzell will officiate, and burial will follow. There will be no public visitation. 

The family request that expressions of sympathy be made to the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services to assist in final expenses.
