Mr. Tommy Boggess

Mr. Tommy Boggess, age 63, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray. 

Mr. Boggess was born in Murray, Kentucky on June 29, 1961, to the late James Sherwin Boggess and Carolyn (Andrus) Boggess. Mr. Boggess was employed at Murray State University in the Environmental Services Department for 27 years and was the owner and operator of Tommy Boggess Heating and Air for 43 years. 

Mr. Boggess was a dedicated member of the Union Grove Church of Christ his entire life. He served as a deacon, preached intermittently, taught multiple classes, and filled other roles as needed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boggess was preceded in death by one sister, Amy (Boggess) Rose. 

Mr. Boggess is survived by his wife, Sheila (McKenzie) Boggess, to whom he married on August 7, 1980; two daughters, Marcy (Boggess) O’Dell and husband Doug of Murray, Kentucky and Carey (Boggess) Story and husband Isaiah of Puryear, Tennessee; and bonus daughter, Macy Jane Kirks of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Tyler Scott Boggess and wife Kari of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Hallie O’Dell of Murray, Kentucky, Genesis Story of Puryear, Tennessee, Sophia Boggess of Murray, Kentucky and Walker Boggess of Murray, Kentucky; and niece Maddie Rose of Missouri.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Glendale Road Church of Christ. Steven Hunter, Johnny Parker, and Mike Ernstberger will officiate. A private family burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Glendale Road Church of Christ; and on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the Glendale Road Church of Christ.
