Mrs. Carolyn Ann Thorne

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Thorne, age 68, of Dexter, Kentucky, passed away, Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky. 

Mrs. Thorne was born on September 16, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Elmer Penney and Marilyn (Howie) Penney Edwards. She worked as a registered nurse at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital for 45 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Thorne; stepfather, Jerry Edwards; as well as her in laws, Bud and Joyce Thorne.

Survivors include one daughter, Emily Cordevant and husband Nathan of Dexter, Kentucky; two sons, Paul Camfield and wife Victoria of Murray, Kentucky and Chris Thorne of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; two sisters, Donna Vanover and husband Todd of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Beverly Penney of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Daniel Penney and wife Inger of Wingo, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Tracy Thorne and wife Miranda of Almo, Kentucky; as well as seven grandchildren, Skyler Rutland, Easton Cordevant, Paisley Cordevant, Olivia Camfield, Sebastien Camfield, Ian Camfield, and Lola Thorne; one soon to be grandchild, Enola Cordevant; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Carl Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
