Mrs. Donna Counce

Mrs. Donna Ruth Counce, age 65, of Springville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at her home.

Mrs. Donna was born on September 24, 1960, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late James Harrison “Red” Greene and Ladye Ruth Tilghman Greene Walker. She had worked for the Gibson County Special School District and was a member of the New Concord Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by one brother, James “Jimmy” Clark Greene.

Survivors include her husband, John Paul Counce of Springville, Tennessee; one daughter, Shelby Ruth Simpson and husband Drake of Westport, Tennessee; one son, John Weston Counce and wife Brooke of Hendersonville, Tennessee; one sister; Carol Lynn Dennis and husband Barry of Clifton, Tennessee; as well as four grandchildren, Sadie Kate Counce, Abby Ruth Counce, Cash Hunter Simpson, and Colt Hunter Simpson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the New Concord Church of Christ, 21 Artesian Drive, New Concord, KY 42076, with Russ Crosswhite officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Paris, Tennessee. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the New Concord Church of Christ.
