Mrs. Evelyn Jane McCuiston

Mrs. Evelyn “Jane” McCuiston, age 85, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Farms in Puryear, Tennessee.

Mrs. McCuiston was born on November 2, 1940, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Euel and Lera Nell Futrell Lockhart. Jane was a retired school bus driver for the Murray Independent School System, was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church and attended the Sinking Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Amvets Auxiliary Post 45 in Buchanan, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dale “Slim” McCuiston; two sisters, Jean Bomar and Frances Nell Lockhart; four brothers, Euel Lockhart, Ronald “Sonny” Lockhart, Bobby Lockhart and Darrell Lockhart.

Survivors include one daughter, Alisa Brandon of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Don McCuiston and Diane Lilly of Murray, Kentucky and Marty McCuiston and Angie of Murray, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Brandy Murphy of Murray, Kentucky, Angalesa Murphy Fristoe and husband Chris of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, Chelsie Stone and husband Ray of Murray, MJ McCuiston of Murray, Mechelle Prescott of Murray, Brandon Boggess of Murray, Jared McCuiston of Akron, Ohio, Jaclyn McCuiston of Mayfield, Kentucky and Nick Allen of Mayfield, Kentucky; also 10 great grandchildren, Chaney Cox and husband Caden Phillips of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tanley Ladd of Hickory, Kentucky, Colby White and wife Emma of Murray, Brayden McCuiston of Hardin, Kentucky, Caden White of Hazel, Kentucky, Kalli McCuiston of Mayfield, Kentucky, Kylin McCuiston of Mayfield, Kentucky Emerlynn McCuiston of Murray, and Mila and Olivia Boggess both of Murray, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
