       Mrs. Evelyn (Wells) Newport, age 95, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Hickory Woods Senior Living Community in Murray.

 

         Mrs. Newport was born in Shiloh, Kentucky on October 20, 1927, to the late John Wells and Audra (Howlett) Wells.

 

         In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newport was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Newport; and by three sisters, Edna Parks, Ruth Seaford, and Suzy Lamb.

 

         Mrs. Newport is survived by one son, Jim Newport and his wife Julie of Albany, Georgia; nieces, Sandra Parks of Murray, Kentucky, Vickie Son of Benton, Kentucky, Martha Woodruff of Guilford, Connecticut; and by nephews, Tommy Seaford of Benton, Kentucky and Steve Seaford of Paducah, Kentucky.

 

          A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ivy Cemetery. John Dale will officiate, and burial will follow. There will be no public visitation.

 

         Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Ivy Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o Patsy Pittman, 2060 Providence Road, Murray, Kentucky 42071
