Mrs. Hilda (Wyatt) Winchester, age 89, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Winchester was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on June 27, 1936, to the late Aubrey Wyatt and Annie (Hutchens) Wyatt. Mrs. Winchester was the former co-owner and operator of Winchester Printing in Murray. She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Winchester, in partnership with her husband Joe Pat, served as foreign missionaries in South America and the Caribbean with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board and later as a dorm grandmother at the Oneida Baptist Institute.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Winchester was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Winchester Vinson; two sisters, Juanita Garland and Linda Parker; and by two brothers, Earl and Harold Wyatt.
Mrs. Winchester is survived by her husband, Joe Pat Winchester of Murray, to whom she married on September 10, 1955, in Corinth, Mississippi; two sons, Randall Winchester and wife Carolyn and Mark Winchester and wife Tami all of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Glenda Kay Carroll of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Namon Wyatt and wife Linda of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Stevie Vinson, Chelcie Alexander and husband Ryan, Joseph Winchester and wife Jennifer, William Winchester, Alexandria McNeill and Kassity Boor and husband Josh; as well as six great grandchildren, Kaiden Alexander, Taylor Alexander, Skylar Alexander, Naitlynn Rai Vinson, Tatum Boor, and Ava McNeill.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Bro. Bob Carroll will officiate, and burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
