Mrs. Shirley Jean Severns, age 87, of Murray, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Severns was born on November 22, 1938, in Henry County, Tennessee, to the late George Shaver and Opal Jewell (Page) Shaver. She was a retired as a Commercial Loan Officer at Citizens Bank in Paducah, and a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Martin Severns who recently passed away on November 4, 2025.
Survivors include two sons, Martin Severns and wife Ginger of Murray, Kentucky and Jeff Severns and wife Melinda of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters, Carol Tomlinson of Houston, Texas and Pat Yeomans and husband Skip of Jackson, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Caitlin Curry, Taylor Hornback, Matthew Severns, Billy Severns, and Lydia Snyder; as well as six great-grandchildren, Naomi Hornback, Hayden Curry, Calvin Curry, Cora Hornback, Anastasia Curry, and Elouise Severns.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah, Kentucky with Bro. Martin Severns officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
