Ms. Mary Ruth Saywell

Ms. Mary Ruth Saywell, age 56, of Murray, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at her caregiver’s home.

Ms. Saywell was born on October 18, 1969, in Union City, Tennessee. Mary Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Murray and attended Hardin Baptist Church where she was a member of the GSP Sunday School Class. She was a longtime member of the Murray Watch, Inc., Lakeshore Camp and Retreat Center, Camp Marc in Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky, and the Murray-Calloway County Special Olympics.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Sidney Saywell, Jr.

Survivors include her mother, Doris Ann (Waltmon) Saywell of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Martha Ann Saywell and husband Matthew Bishop of San Antonio, Texas; as well as her caregiver and her family for many years to whom are considered family, Glenda Covey and husband Keith of Murray, Kentucky, Katelyn “Katie” Jones and husband Robbie and their daughter Lydia Grace Jones of Murray, Kentucky, and Jesse Covey and wife Jaycie who are expecting the birth of new baby girl soon, MaryScott Covey (named after Mary Ruth) of Paducah, Kentucky.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Jim Stahler and Bro. Ricky Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Fairdealing, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
