Naomi Whitnel Hewitt

Mrs. Naomi Whitnel Hewitt, 86, of Murray, Kentucky died Tuesday, October 08, 2013 at Hickory Woods Assisted Living in Murray.
Mrs. Hewitt was born in Murray, Kentucky on June 30, 1927 to the late John Waters Whitnel and Martha Elizabeth (Parker) Whitnel. Mrs. Hewitt a mother, grandmother, teacher and worked as a decorator for Thurman Furniture in Murray for 32 years. Mrs. Hewitt was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hewitt is survived by her husband, Raymond T. "Buddy" Hewitt of Murray, to whom she married on August 11, 1949 in Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Lynn Hewitt Dowdy and husband James of Murray; one son, John Richard Hewitt of Corydon, Indiana; as well as two grandchildren, Callie Elizabeth Dowdy and Abby Crittenden Dowdy both of Lexington, Kentucky.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the First United Methodist of Murray, Rev. Jim Stahler will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. also at the First United Methodist Church.
