Nita Guin

Mrs. Nita Faye Johnson Guin, age 69, of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

She was a member of the Christian Community Church in Murray. She was a graduate of the Mississippi State College for Women with a degree in Speech Therapy. She spent her career educating and caring for children.

She was born in Starkville, Mississippi on August 29, 1946 to the late Smith and Willie Payne Ramsey Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one sister, Lydia Kay Bowman.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Guin of Murray, Kentucky. They were married in Starkville, Mississippi on December 28, 1968. She is also survived by three daughters, Lauri Thomas of Stewart, Tennessee, Kacey Guin of Seattle, Washington and Ashlee Hopkins of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Patrick Thomas, Lexie Thomas, Christian Hopkins, Lucas Hopkins and Parker Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, December 18, 2015 and Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 11:00 am till funeral hour at the funeral home.
