Norman O'Neal Lane, a loving, faithful and committed husband, father, and grandfather died Sunday, March 2nd.

His life was full of beautiful friendships, most of all with the love of his life, Carol Lane.

Norman was also a charter member at Oaks Country Club, where he enjoyed playing with his dearest friends, Jim Johnson, Jack Benton, Chet Wildey, and AR Hatcher, as well as besting his sons and grandchildren at nearly every turn.

He was of Baptist faith and had a very personal relationship with the Lord, saying, "In nature I feel closest to God, when the sun is shining and the grass is a vivid green."

Norman is survived by his wife, Carol Lane; three sons, Denny (Diana), Ray (Amy) and Tim Lane (Vicky); two stepchildren, Bruce Thurmond (Jill) and Kendra Percarpio (Tom); twelve grandchildren, Sarah Lane Campbell (Clayton), Emily Lane Rockne (Gary), Andrew, Alex and Boone Lane, Blair Lane Brockman (Tyler), Stephanie Lane Tompkins (Jabe) and Michael Lane, Lucas and Noah Thurmond, Carrington and Will Percarpio; and two great grandchildren, Maisie and Gwyneth Rockne.
