Mr. Norris L. "Tupy" Rowland, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at Lake Way Nursing Home in Benton, Kentucky.
Mr. Rowland was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 20, 1930 to the late Edgar L. Rowland and Joye N. Outland Rowland. Mr. Rowland was owner of Rowland Refrigeration for over 50 years before retiring. He was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents Mr. Rowland was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gene Boaz.
Mr. Rowland is survived by his wife Dorothy Rowland of Murray, Kentucky to whom he married on October 13, 1954 in Corinth, Mississippi; two daughters, Denise Boaz of Murray, Kentucky and Janet Walker of Gallatin, Tennessee; one sister, Peggy Wearren and husband Doug of Cadiz, Kentucky; three brothers, Dan Rowland and wife Marcie of Murray, Kentucky, Michael Rowland and wife Carol of Nashville, Tennessee and Edgar Rowland, Jr. and wife Grace of Cheboygan, Michigan; three grandchildren, Ty Walker of Gallatin, Tennessee, Rachel Haugh of Murray, Kentucky and Allison Sanders and husband Barry of Bowling Green, Kentucky; four great grandchildren, Jay, Nate and Ben Sanders of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Ava Elliott of Murray, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews survive.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September, 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Outland Cemetery with John Dale and Jason Hart officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
