Odell Hicks

Mr. Odell Hicks age 81, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, May 09, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Hicks was born in Trigg County, Kentucky on February 15, 1932 to the late Floyd and Necie Ann Compton Hicks. Mr. Hicks worked as a laborer with the International Union of North America, local #1214; he later retired with the T.V.A. (Tennessee Valley Authority). Mr. Hicks was a member of the Temple Hill Masonic Lodge, F. & A.M. #276 and a member of the Ledbetter Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Ramsey; one brother, Woodrow Hicks; and by a granddaughter, Tracy Hicks.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Wilma Hicks of Murray, to whom he married on November 2, 1949 in Corinth, Mississippi; two daughters, Dolores Holloman and husband Randall of Mayfield, Kentucky and Brenda Edwards and significant other Ricky Hargrove of New Concord, Kentucky; one son, Michael Odell Hicks and wife June of Murray; one sister, Vonnie Hicks of Murray; seven grandchildren, Regina McClure and husband Trevor, Brad Hicks and wife Sarah, Mandy Swain, Holly Rushing and husband David, Derek Keel, Pamela Taylor and husband Ray, and Denise Burton; seventeen great grandchildren, Eric McClure, Tanner McClure, Carter Hicks, Mila Hicks, Marley Hicks, Jaci Swain, Colton Bynum, Abigal Rushing, Blane Rushing, Hadley Rushing, Devin Burton, Austin Burton, Dakota Burton, Dustin Sharp, Christopher Taylor, Jacquelyn Taylor and Tabitha Paschall.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
