Opal E. Starks

 Mrs. Opal E. Starks, age 95, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

 Mrs. Starks was born on December 27, 1928, in Marshall County, Kentucky, to the late Olice Mathis and Grace Mathis Gore. She was a retired cook with Westview Nursing home and a member of the Hickory Grove Church of Christ.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Edwards; two sisters, Dortha Starks and Norma Jean Clanton; two brothers, Olive Mathis and George Mathis.

 Survivors include one son, Barry Edwards of Murray, Kentucky; also, several nieces and nephews.

 A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Murray City Cemetery. John Dale will officiate, and burial will follow. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
