Ovena Mae Eugley

Ms. Ovena Mae Eugley, age 79, of Murray, Kentucky died on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray.

Ms. Eugley was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on October 1, 1938 to the late Willie P. Burkeen and Nellie Myrtle (Childress) Burkeen. Ms. Eugley retired from the Murray-Calloway County Hospital Housekeeping Department and was a caregiver and homemaker. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and the Share Sunday School Class. Ms. Eugley enjoyed cooking and sharing her dishes with others.

In addition to her parents Ms. Eugley was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Scott; four sisters, Treva Burkeen, Geneva Wright, Mary Spann and Livie Fennell; as well as by three brothers, Ed Burkeen, Euel Burkeen and Rudy Burkeen.

Ms. Eugley is survived by one daughter, Teresa Hill and husband Kenny of Humboldt, Tennessee; one son, Brent Eugley and wife Kim of Puryear, Tennessee; one sister, Virginia Coleman and husband John of Dexter, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Heather Scott and husband Paul of Murray, Kentucky, Misty Glisson of Paris, Tennessee, Matthew Ragan and wife Allison of Nashville, Tennessee , Adam Ragan and wife Gina of South Fulton, Tennessee and Derek Hart and wife Molly of Paris Tennessee; 11 great-grandchildren, Ethan Scott, Candace and Tyler Blanton, Maesyn, Jackson and Milly Hart; Hayes Ragan and soon to be brother and Charlie, Eden and Reid Ragan; one great-great grandchild, Tazyn Harris; many nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Glenda Owen of Paris, Tennessee and Nancy Anderson Smith and Dawn Wright both of Maine.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Kerry Lambert and Rev. Sammy Cunningham will officiate and special remarks by Adam Ragan. Burial will follow in the Jeffrey Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
