Pansy Rebecca Ford

Mrs. Pansy Rebecca Ford, 79 of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. By her side was her beloved husband of 49 years, Jimmy Harris Ford. Born on May 12, 1932, Pansy was the daughter of the late Sallie Elizabeth and Lubie Dick of Mayfield, Kentucky. As a young girl, she grew up in Lynnville, Kentucky and attended Sedalia High School. She then moved to Mayfield, Kentucky where she worked at The Merit Clothing Company.
Pansy and Jimmy were married in 1963 and lived in Murray, Kentucky where they raised their two daughters. The dynamic duo worked tirelessly side by side for 29 years servicing the community as owners of Wallis Drug Store, providing medications, advice and support for their patrons, who they also considered good friends. On any given day, one could find Pansy behind the cosmetic case, dispensing prescriptions and serving orange-aids from their soda fountain, which was known throughout Western Kentucky. They loved being an active part of the business community on the Court Square of Murray. Pansy also enjoyed serving alongside friends at the Murray Woman's Club and was a devoted member of the University Church of Christ and Glendale Road Church of Christ.
Pansy was a loving mother to Teresa Ford Chope (husband, Douglas) of Brookline, Massachusetts and Marla Ford Moroscak (husband, Richard) of Bethesda, Maryland; and adoring grandmother to four grandchildren, Katherine Clasby Chope, Douglas Ford Chope, Sallie Lawrence Chope and Evelyn Ford Moroscak.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 1pm at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home where John Dale and William Looney will officiate, burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2012 from 5pm -7pm at the funeral home.
