Patricia Bates, age 81 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee died Thursday at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. She was born in Schenectady, New York and was a daughter of the late Harold and Grace Goodwin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edd Sam Bates.
Survivors include two sons, Sam Bates and wife Shannon and Ward Bates and wife Leanne, all of Murfreesboro; a brother, Col. John Bird Goodwin, USAF Ret. and wife Judy of Orange Park, FL; sisters, Gail Dobyns and husband Jack of Ocean City, MD, and Betty Jane "BJ" Pagano and husband Dominick of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Samuel Bates, Patrick Bates, Parker Bates, and Sadler Bates, all of Murfreesboro; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was a sweet, pumpkin muffin loving, coffee drinking, Wheel of Fortune watching, Chico shopper extraordinaire. Mimi was well loved and loved in return. She is at peace.
Visitation will be from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Murray City Cemetery in Murray, KY under the direction of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
