Patricia Thurmond Young

Mrs. Patricia "Patty" Thurmond Young, age 71 of Murray, Kentucky died Wednesday, February 08, 2017 at Huntington Health and Rehab Center in Huntington, Tennessee.

Mrs. Young was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 9, 1945 to the late Edwin Miller and Virginia Louise Gephart Thurmond. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Young was also preceded in death by her husband, Silas Frank Young; one sister, Madelyn Hendry; and by one brother, Mike "Hamburger" Thurmond.

She is survived by two nieces, Melissa Bevil of Murray, Kentucky and Tina Hodges of Murray, Kentucky; one nephew, Dennis Thurmond and wife Penny of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three great nieces, Sarah Hodges of New Kent, Virginia, Courtney Koelbl and husband Ken of Oak Grove Kentucky and Ella Thurmond of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one great nephew, Dustin Bevil of Murray, Kentucky; one great great niece, Lillian Davis of New Kent, Virginia.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Murray City Cemetery with John Dale officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
