Mr. Paul Hopkins, age 91, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Hopkins was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on May 15, 1927 to the late Noble Hopkins and Ruth (Miller) Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins was employed with the Tappan Manufacturing Company in Murray and later retired from the Murray Lumber Company. Mr. Hopkins was a member of the Flint Baptist Church; there he was a member of the Auditorium Sunday School Class, and previously served as a Deacon and church custodian. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by his wife, June Hopkins, who died on July 6, 2017; one sister, Virginia Stalls; and one brother, Miller Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins is survived by one daughter, Gina Brandon and husband Randy Brandon of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Anna Robinson and husband James of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, James Dale Hopkins and wife Karen of Murray, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Holly Georgiou and husband P.J. of Murray, Kentucky; as well as three great-grandchildren, Sophie, Savannah, and Christian Georgiou.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Cope officiating. Burial will follow in the Scott's Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
