Purdom Miller Lovett

Mr. Purdom Miller Lovett, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House after a short visit.

Mr. Lovett was born on August 20, 1932, in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Fred Lovett and Elsie Miller Lovett. He was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church and served on various boards and committees at the church. Mr. Lovett was Co-Founder of Motor Parts and Bearings a Carquest Auto Parts Distributor. He retired in 1999 and was an avid golfer and a big supporter of his grandchildren's activities. In addition, he was an Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Talmadge Lovett, William Lovett, and Max Gene Lovett; one sister, Ruth Lassiter; and two nephews, Ricky Lovett and Jerry Lassiter.

Survivors include his wife, Carmen Jo Horton Lovett of Murray, Kentucky; they married on June 2, 1956, in Calloway County, Kentucky; one daughter, Carma Lisa Boren and husband Larry of Saltillo, Mississippi; two sons, David Wayne Lovett and wife Lin of Murray, Kentucky and Michael Rae Lovett and wife Patricia of Owensboro, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Andy Boren and wife Ashley M., Elliott Lovett and wife Taylor, Ashley Jo Boren, Curt Thurman, Skylar Lovett, and Sydney Lovett; one great grandchild, Willa Drew Boren; as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, March 22, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. April Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Coles Campground Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., on Friday, March 22, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be, Andy Boren, Elliot Lovett, Curt Thurman, Skylar Lovett, Nicky Lovett, and Hal Kemp. Honorary pallbearers will be, Tony Horton, Nick Allen Horton, and Wayne Horton.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Goshen United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4726 State Route, 121 North, Murray, Kentucky 42071.
