Mrs. Rachel White Hendon, age 91, of Murray, Kentucky, died, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Glendale Place Retirement Community.
She was a member of the University Church of Christ; was active in the University Christian Student Center; member of the Calloway County Homemakers and Jackson Purchase Historical Society; she was a homemaker and former employee of the Bank of Murray.
Ms. Hendon was born February 16, 1921 in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Lon and Miriam Duncan White. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hendon in April of 2007; three sisters, Eurita Herning, Lonnie Rayburn, Robbie Blalock; three brothers, Jack White, Otley White and Gene White.
She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca H. Page and husband J.T. of Paris, Tennessee, Carolyn H. Colson and husband Kennie of Murray, Kentucky, Mirrian H. Ferguson and husband Mark or Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale and Charley Bazzell will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 at the funeral home.
