Mr. Randy Thornton, age 71, of Murray, Kentucky, died, Monday, December 26, 2011 at his home
He was the co owner and operator of Randy Thornton's Heating and Air; he loved flying and boating; he was an army veteran of the Korean War; he was a member of the Hazel Baptist Church; he was a member of the Murray Masonic Lodge 105 F&AM; he was made a Kentucky Coronel in 1975
He was born October 10, 1940 in Calloway County Kentucky to the late Tazz and Myrtle Cole Thornton; in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Dickie Keeler who died while in the service in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife Pamela Croft Thornton of Murray, Kentucky in whom he was married May 29, 1976; two sons, Richard Thornton and wife Christine of Calvert City, Kentucky, Dr. Patrick Thornton of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Aimee Imes of Dexter, Kentucky; one sister, Wilma Futrell of Murray, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Laynee Thornton and Samuel Imes.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, December 30, 2011in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Christopher Burgess and Rev. Kerry Lambert will officiate with burial following in the Union Baptist Cemetery in Marion, Kentucky. Masonic Rights will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, December 29, 2011 with visitation being held from 5:00 – 8:00 at the funeral home.
