Rav "Nell" Norsworthy

Mrs. Rav “Nell” Norsworthy, 93, of Hopkinsville, KY, formerly of Murray, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Bradford Heights Health and Rehab Center in Hopkinsville. Mrs. Norsworthy was born in Calloway Co., KY on August 1, 1917 to the late Walter and Jessie Mae Stuart Thurman. Mrs. Norsworthy retired from the cafeteria at Murray State University and was a member of the West Fork Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Norsworthy was preceded in death by her husband, Reldon Norsworthy, who died August 2, 1996; one son, Jerry Norsworthy; one granddaughter, Carol Lee Luffman; one grandson, Benjamin Larry Norsworthy; six brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Norsworthy is survived by one daughter, Paula Raney and husband Jim of Hopkinsville, KY; three sons, Larry Norsworthy and wife Janice, Owen Norsworthy and wife Linda and Rick Norsworthy all of Murray, KY; two sisters, Myrtle Mohundro of Hazel, KY and Mary Willadean Richardson of Copen, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, and 4 great -great grandchildren; as well as two sister- in -laws, Nemo Jackson and Dorothy Norsworthy both of Murray.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike McKinney, Rev. Sammy Cunningham and Rev. Matthew Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
