R.B. Barton

Mr. R.B. Barton, Jr., age 78, of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at his home after an extended illness.

He was retired after thirty nine years as a professor of Business Management at Murray State University; he was also a retired Church of Christ minister of forty years serving various churches; he was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ; he was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He was born in Center Point Arkansas on January 16, 1935 to the late Rufus Biggs and Lee Etta Reese Barton. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Mr. Barton is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Lentz Barton to whom he was married on October 15, 1961 in Searcy, Arkansas; one daughter, Britannie Barton Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tennessee; one son, Reagan Brooks Barton of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jacob Barton Scarbrough, Alexander "Alex" Brooks Scarbrough, Benjamin "Ben" Arlton Scarbrough, and Jenna Briann Scarbrough all of Buchanan Tennessee.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Glendale Road Church of Christ. John Dale will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 at the Glendale Road Church of Christ
