Mrs. Rebecca Jean Murdock, age 90, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.
Mrs. Murdock was born on November 20, 1927 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Harley Adams and Trudy Doron Adams. She retired from Peoples Bank as a teller with thirty-five years of service. She was also the first female teller at Peoples Bank. She was a member of the Williams Chapel Church of Christ, a member of the Genealogical Society and a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Murdock; 3 brothers, Hoyt Fray Adams, Jimmy Adams and Jessie Adams.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Bowen and husband Tony of Clarksville, Tennessee; two sons, Nelson Murdock and wife Audrey of Harold, Florida, James Ray Murdock and wife Debbie of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Evelyn Smoot of Mayfield, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Melissa Johnson, Michael Manning, Brian Murdock, Amanda Goodwin, Dr. Brett Murdock, Kyle Murdock, Lance Murdock, Trent Murdock and Nathan Musser; also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Glendale Road Church of Christ with David Williams and Chris Buford officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Glendale Road Church of Christ.
