Mrs. Rebecca Louise Jake Rutledge, age 83, a long-time resident of Murray, Kentucky, died on January 27, 2019, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Mrs. Rutledge was born on January 29, 1935 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late Frederick R. Jake and Annie Louise O'Brien Jake. She graduated from R.E. Butler High School in Princeton, Kentucky in 1952; Deaconess Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in St. Louis, Missouri on May 22, 1955; and Murray State University with an associate degree in Vocational Technical Education on August 9, 1996. Mrs. Rutledge worked at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital for 21 ½ years as an x-ray technologist, medical records specialist, and vascular ultrasonographer. She was a member of the Murray Women's Club and Murray Art Guild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2012 by her loving husband, Richard G. Rutledge, to whom she was married for 56 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Baumert and husband Craig of Arkansas and Deborah Mennuti and spouse Jonathan of Washington, DC; one son, David Rutledge and spouse Mi Chong of North Carolina; two brothers, John Jake and wife Sandra and Tom Jake; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Rutledge, Austin Baumert, Jake Baumert, and Sophia Mennuti; as well as one sister-in-law, Irma Rutledge and one brother-in-law, Jerry Rutledge and wife Susan.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., on Friday, April 5, 2019, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
