Mr. Richard “Hal” Fuqua, age 65, of Farmington, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Tri-Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Fuqua was born on January 8, 1961, in Murray , Kentucky to the late Richard Fuqua and Judith (Jordan) Fuqua. Mr. Fuqua was a farmer and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ. Hal lived life with determination and an unwavering work ethic. Whether he was running ultra-endurance marathons, working the land he loved, or spending long hours behind the wheel of a truck, he embraced every challenge with strength and purpose. He found joy in the simple things—sunrises over the fields, the open road, and the satisfaction of a hard day’s work. His dedication, humility, and love for his family and community will be remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy (Fannin) Fuqua of Farmington, Kentucky; three daughters, Holly Randolph and husband Chance of Farmington, Kentucky, Rebecca Barnhill of Waynesville, Missouri, and Amanda Young and husband Arron of Farmington, Kentucky; two sons, Johnathan Downs and wife Katrina of Farmington, Kentucky and Justin Downs and wife Christian of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Todd Fuqua and wife Lisa of Almo, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Adley Cain, Pandora Young, Xavier Young, Isabella Randermann, Kaitlyn Sullivan, Keegan Downs, Kyree Downs, Delilah Downs, and Kaiden Barham; as well as two great-grandchildren, Mia Harrison and Robert Harrison.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Antioch Church of Christ with Charley Bazzell officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
