Rigoberto Labastida Torres

Mr. Rigoberto Labastida Torres, age 36, of Murray, Kentucky died on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee from injuries sustained in a work accident.

Mr. Labastida Torres was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on January 22, 1980. Mr. Labastida Torres was employed by W.A. Kendall & Seelbach Tree Trimming Company as a climber. He was a veteran of the Mexican Army and was a member of the St. Leo Catholic Church.

Mr. Labastida Torres was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Labastida Lugo.

Mr. Labastida Torres is survived by his mother, Juana Torres Martinez of Mexico; his wife, Ofelia Trejo - Zun︡iga of Murray, Kentucky; two daughters, Paloma Y. Labastida – Trejo and Britany J. Labastida – Trejo both of Murray, Kentucky; one nephew, Abraham Labastida of Murray, Kentucky; as well as 5 sisters.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church with Father Eugene Batungbacal officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the St. Leo Catholic Church.
